As the cold winds set in at Pakistan, the wedding fever takes a hold of people in all parts of the country. The cold, clear air instead of sweltering heat of summer is the main cause of this matrimony mania. The marquees and wedding halls are booked months in advance and tailors are swamped with orders. This is mainly due to the vanity of people. As compared to summer, the winter season allows people to dress themselves up more pompously and not feel like dying due to the cold, refreshing temperature.

Furthermore all kinds of dancing and performances are a must in the wedding celebrations. Doing so in summer is a chore but in winter it is and enjoyment. One must not forget the food in winter is also more delicious and heavy, ensuring the satisfaction of the guests.

The dresses in a Pakistani wedding are traditionally heavy for all comers. This has the side effect of runition due to sweat and heat. It is therefore better to hold a wedding in the cold season.
